Our vision is to make Guelmim-Oued Noun a model of regional development in Morocco by leveraging our natural, cultural, and human resources. We strive to create an environment conducive to economic growth while preserving our rich heritage and ensuring the well-being of our citizens.

The mission of the Regional Council is to work hand in hand with residents, businesses, and local stakeholders to build a prosperous and sustainable future for Guelmim-Oued Noun. We are committed to strengthening our infrastructure, supporting education and healthcare, promoting tourism and local industries, and protecting our unique environment.
The Guelmim-Oued Noun Region
The Guelmim-Oued Noun region is one of the twelve regions of Morocco since the new territorial division of 2015 (since September 2015). Located in the south of Morocco, the region’s capital is the city of Guelmim. Like the other 11 regions of the Kingdom, Guelmim-Oued Noun was established under this new regional structure.

The Guelmim-Oued Noun region covers an area of 46,108 square kilometers, representing 6.49% of the total area of the Kingdom of Morocco.
Urbanization Rate
The urbanization rate was 64.57% in 2014, with 280,094 inhabitants in urban areas and 153,663 inhabitants in rural areas.
Growth Rate
The average annual growth rate in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region from 2004 to 2014 was approximately 0.6%.
Population Density
The population density in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region was 9.4 inhabitants per square kilometer in 2014.
Maritime Fishing
The maritime fishing sector is a key pillar of the region's economic and social development, thanks to its maritime resources that attract both Moroccan and foreign investors.
Craftsmanship
Craftsmanship is a symbol of the region's cultural diversity, encompassing a wide range of trades and products that reflect its rich cultural and historical heritage.
Tourism
The region boasts 250 kilometers of coastline and offers a rich and diverse array of tourism products, in addition to its proximity to major tourist destinations, making it an ideal destination for visitors from around the world.

The region has significant resources for renewable energy, providing a favorable environment for the establishment of electricity and green hydrogen production plants.
Agriculture
The Guelmim-Oued Noun region has 191,771 hectares of arable land, and the agricultural sector includes the production of a variety of crops, enhancing its agricultural capacities.
