Province of Sidi Ifni is located in the northwest of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, covering an area of 3,190 square kilometers. It overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, the Lesser Atlas Mountains and the plains. The province includes two urban communes and 17 rural communes, with a population of 115,691 inhabitants and a density of 38.81 inhabitants per square kilometer.
The province of Sidi Ifni is home to a fishing port in operation since 1989, which constitutes an important maritime platform in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, alongside the port of Tan-Tan. The economy of this province is mainly based on agriculture, maritime fishing and tourism. It is distinguished by the production of prickly pears, with about 50,000 hectares of cactus, providing more than half of the national production of this fruit.
Sidi Ifni extends over a coastline of about 80 kilometers, and its regional waters contain a significant and varied fishery wealth, with a high commercial value, which makes maritime fishing a key sector of the local economy.
The province of Sidi Ifni also has important tourist assets to attract Moroccan and foreign visitors, including a rich cultural heritage and a diversity of natural landscapes, including beaches such as Legzira, Mirleft and Sidi Ifni. In addition, the climate is pleasant throughout the year, which reinforces its tourist appeal.
